Update - Continued shortage of Organically Certified Wheat.
Tofino, BC June 19, 2008  - Due to a shortage in Canadian wheat
production, Creative Salmon's feed manufacturer has continued to have
problems sourcing Organically Certified Wheat for our feed formulations.
As a result Creative Salmon Company has had to supplement or substitute
organically certified wheat with conventional wheat in our salmon diets.

reative Salmon finds possible trace levels of
florfenicol in fish
Tofino, BC May 15, 2008 - Due to a shortage of young fish it was necessary for Creative Salmon to purchase some fish from other hatcheries in 2007.  One of these groups of fish had been treated with antibiotic in 2006. During recent sampling of these fish by Creative Salmon trace levels of the antibiotic Florfenicol was found. Further sampling has indicated trace levels in some other groups of our fish as well.  The purpose of this letter is to inform you of these preliminary findings.

Fantastic news from the US Food and Drug Administration
Tofino, BC February 1, 2008 - Creative Salmon received a Notice of Action today from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  The notice states that Creative Salmon fillets detained at the US Boarder in December 2007 have been released. In other words, their investigation is over and the file is closed. FDA informed Creative Salmon that their review did not support detention of the fillets.

Good news for Creative Salmon and their customers.
Tofino, BC January 13, 2008 - Creative Salmon received laboratory results yesterday from fish collected at its Eagle Bay farm by a Fisheries Officer from the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands on January 8th 2008. As anticipated all the results came back negative. This confirms our previous test results from Eagle Bay and the fact that Creative Salmon does not use Malachite Green.

Creative Salmon has never used the product Malachite Green.
Tofino, BC January 8, 2008Creative Salmon was informed by the US Food and Drug Administration on Thursday, December 27th, 2007 that Malachite Green had reportedly been found in a sample of fish from our Eagle Bay farm. The fish was collected during routine sampling at the US border on Dec 4, 2007. At this point we are unable to explain this result as all previous testing of these fish have turned up negative.
