Creative Salmon is 100% compliant with Government Regulations.
Fisheries Inspectors from the
Compliance and Monitoring Unit of the Fisheries and Aquaculture
Licensing and Compliance Branch of the Provincial Government spent
2 days in February inspecting all farm sites belonging to Creative
Salmon. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure all aquaculture
companies in the Province are in compliance with the various
regulations and conditions of their operating licenses. It is a
very detailed inspection covering of all aspects of the farm
operation right down to daily record keeping.
In a letter containing the results
from the inspections, Fisheries Inspector Mr. Atkinson writes, "I
would like to also take this opportunity to express how much I
enjoyed working with your managers and staff. I found them very
knowledgeable and the pride taken by the staff in the farm sites
is very evident".
Well done Creative Salmon!

Last salmon farm dog?
Ode to a friend.
There
was a time on this coast when every salmon farm had one dog, at least. Alas, no more! What I believe to be
the last salmon farm dog on the BC coast left this veil of tears
on Monday February 6.
Daisy was a tough old girl who
survived a trip over a waterfall, trying to bite a moving circular
saw blade, the last ten years of winter storms and Grant.
She was grumpy in the mornings, she
smelled bad, she would give you crap one minute and be your friend
the next (especially if food was involved) and she always gave the
new folk a hard time. In other words she was a typical Creative
employee.
If there is a doggy heaven, then
our beloved Daisy is on an endless boat ride with sunshine, lots
of waves to bark at, and the electric pallet jack (her chew toy).
Godspeed Daisy.
