2006
A memorial service for the late Mat Williams is held on Indian
Island in Clayoquot Sound. Creative Salmon provided financial
support and boats to shuttle friends and family to and from the
island.

Local First Nations Arnold Frank hand carves a beautiful canoe
paddle from yellow cedar and Creative Salmon purchased it as a gift
for an important client.

Creative Salmon donated gifts to the annual Tla-o-qui-alt First
Nations Gumboot Christmas fund. The gifts were distributed to less
fortunate kids in the local community.

Creative Salmon provided salmon to local smoker and long time Tofino
resident, Mr. Neil Botting. The smoked salmon was donated to the
annual Catholic Bazaar held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Tofino.

Tofino General Hospital. Proceeds helped ensure infrastructure and

annual Starlight Extravaganza Masquerade Ball. The event is hosted
by the local CIBC and all proceeds go to the Tofino General Hospital
and the BC Children’s Hospital.

ceremonies held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Tofino.

Creative Salmon contributed to the Tom family of the Tla-o-qui-alt
First Nations. Regrettably Burt Tom was hospital in Nanaimo and the
contribution helped off set costs associated with travel, hotels and

Creative Salmon provided fresh salmon for the BBQ lunch at the 7th
annual West Coast Forest Day. The event took place between the
junction and the Pacific Rim National Park and included exhibits of
forest conservation, ecosystem restoration, environmental
protection, sustainable forestry and more.

sponsoring local youth to participate in the Children’s Heritage
Discovery Canoe Tour. The Tonquin Foundation, a non-profit
organization dedicated to preserving the marine heritage of

golf tournament held at the Long Beach Golf Course. Professional
golfers show off their talent and enjoy a delicious salmon BBQ at
the end of the day. Creative Salmon donated the salmon.

The annual Multi-Use-Path Supper (MUPSUP) is held on the Village
Green in the heart of Tofino. Salmon donated by Creative Salmon was
served from the BBQ along with delicious salads, bread and deserts
all donated by the local community. Proceeds from the supper and
associated silent auction go towards upgrading the multi-use path in
Tofino.

society is a non-profit, parent run club dedicated to promoting fun,
friendship, and fitness for the youth of the surrounding community
through synchronized swimming.

Branch #65 of The Royal Canadian Legion hosted its annual Family
Fishing Derby in Clayoquot Sound. Creative Salmon donated salmon for
the BBQ dinner on the last day of the derby.

held at the Long Beach Golf Course. Local golfers enjoyed a salmon

Council in their fund raising for the First Nations Elders
Conference held in Port Alberni. TFN was the main sponsor of this
year’s conference, which brings First Nations elder together from
across BC.

Creative Salmon sponsored the TFN slow pitch team, JC’s Crew as they
participate in the Relay for Life run to raise money for cancer
research. The “Crew” was fund raising on behalf of their team member
Wayne Curley, who is a cancer survivor.

in Tofino and Ucluelet. The books were purchased from the West Coast
Vancouver Island Aquatic Management Board. The Board is a non-profit
organization that seeks to ensure sustainable opportunities for
coastal communities affected by aquatic resource management. The
proceeds from the sale of the books support marine research,
cultural activities and stewardship in the communities of the west
coast.

Creative Salmon hosts an
information seminar for various members of the Nuu-Chah-Nulth Tribal Council
interested in black cod (sablefish) aquaculture. Mr. Gidon Minkoff was
on hand to give a power point presentation covering all aspects of black cod
production from hatcher to harvest. Mr. Minkoff is the President of
Sablefish Hatcheries and fielded a barrage of questions from an enthusiastic
group. Sablefin Hatcheries is located on Salt Spring Island and is the
only hatchery in British Columbia providing juvenile black cod to the
aquaculture industry.

Floor-hockey Superstars Kevin Young and Randy Sadler take time out
of their busy work schedules to teach the grade 4 students of Wickaninnish Elementary School the basics of floor-hockey.Randy is commercial fisher out of
Tofino and owns the salmon troller the Nina Ellen. Kevin is a long
time resident of Tofino and has been involved in the Aquaculture
industry for many years. Kevin has been with Creative Salmon for the
past 2 1/2 years..

Creative Salmon contributes to the Hands Across The Island
fundraising campaign. All funds raised go towards the Island Storm,
Vancouver Island's first Aboriginal Peewee Hockey Team. The goal of
the campaign is to bring together young Aboriginal athletes from all
over Vancouver Island who share a common interest - they enjoy
playing the game of hockey. Tofino's James Martin as well as two
other players from Port Alberni are on the team.

Certified Organic Associations of British Columbia (COABC) AGM and
Tradeshow. The three day event was held in Abbotsford BC. (certifiedorganic.bc.ca) Catering was
provided by Chefisin Personal Chef Services.

our salmon. "The fish was perfect, wonderful to work with and very
tasty. It was moist, looked fabulous and was really perfect in very

the Hale/Helliwell family of Tofino. Several member of the family
were involved in a tragic plan crash between Tofino and Vancouver
earlier this year. A Five Course Dinner and Auction was held at the
local Tin Wis Resort with all proceeds going to the Hale/Helliwell
Trust Fund.

campaign to raise money for the Coon family of Opitsaht. The
family's young daughter recently underwent major surgery and is
recovering at the Children's Hospital in Vancouver.

ball-hockey tournament in February. Head Coach Tim Tom and the
Queens hope to participate in the Seabird Annual Games later this
year.

the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations Girls Youth basketball team to the
BC Zone Playoffs in Port Alberni. In March the girls will be
